What does downtime cost you?

A systems outage hits you through salaries paid for idle time, lost sales and work that has to be redone. See what it adds up to in a real case, then work it out with your company's own figures.

Systems down · worked example

676€every hour of downtime

The counter starts now: it shows the cost of downtime while you read this page. Each hour costs this company about €676, not counting the one-off €5,110 for work to be redone and extra costs.

  • One-off: €5,110
What the example is based on

A distribution company with €4 million turnover and a 30% margin: 18 people unable to work and 5 slowed down, average gross annual salary €32,000, sales halved with half the shortfall recovered later, work restarting from the previous night's backup, €3,000 in extra costs. A working day is 8 hours of activity. Figures rounded.

  • Idle salariesStaff who cannot work, and to some extent those slowed down, still have to be paid: downtime does not stop salaries.
  • Lost marginSales that are blocked and never recovered cost you the lost margin, not the full turnover.
  • Work to be redoneEverything done since the last backup has to be redone: it is the cost that always comes to light too late.

Frequently asked questions

What exactly does HYSAD do?

HYSAD looks after companies' IT end to end: governance and compliance, project management, AI solution integration, cyber security, systems and infrastructure administration, and day-to-day technical support. It acts as a single point of contact: one partner that knows the systems, projects and people, instead of separate suppliers that do not talk to each other.

Who are HYSAD's services for?

Businesses and SMEs in Italy, whether they have an in-house IT department that needs support on governance, security or specific projects, or want to outsource systems management and user support.

Where does HYSAD operate? Do you also work remotely?

Our office is in Rome, at Via Roccaraso 11, but the team works throughout Italy: most activities are handled remotely and, where a physical presence is needed, we come on site.

What is the difference between System Administration and IT Support?

System Administration looks after the infrastructure: servers, cloud, network, firewalls, backup and monitoring. IT Support looks after people and day-to-day operations: workstations, Microsoft 365, accounts, printers, onboarding new starters.

In short: the first keeps the systems running, the second keeps users working, and at HYSAD the two teams work together.

How much do HYSAD's services cost?

There is no standard price list, because the cost depends on the size of the company, the systems involved and the type of work: a one-off assessment, a project and ongoing management are priced differently. The initial consultation is there precisely to define the scope and provide an estimate: you can request it through the contact form, with no obligation.

How do you start working with HYSAD?

It starts with the contact form below or a phone call (+39 06 86358341). Next comes an initial consultation to understand your context and needs, then an assessment of the current situation and a proposal with a roadmap, responsibilities and success criteria: this is the four-phase Operating Protocol described on this page.
